THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC president K Sudhakaran has come out with a clarification regarding his statement on the nomination of Sangh Parivar supporters to the University Senate. In his social media post, Sudhakaran said that what he intended through his statement was that the merit of those nominated to the university senate should be looked at. He also stated that he would strongly criticise if unqualified people were nominated to the Senate.
'Some people are attempting to portray me as Sangh Parivar. I'm dismissing such campaigns with disdain. Politics favouring the Sangh Parivar forces is not my style. The Congress has never supported the Governor who is trying to implement Sangh Parivar's ideas in Kerala. The CPM is now targeting me as part of a wasteful attempt to cover up the failure of the Nava Kerala Sadas,' Sudhakaran wrote on social media.
Sudhakaran had earlier told the media in Delhi that the Congress was not opposed to nominating qualified Sangh Parivar supporters to the Senate and that the Sangh Parivar was a part of democracy.
