GQEBERHA: South Africa regained back their momentum as they defeated India by eight wickets in the second ODI on their home turf. The three-match series is thus tied at 1-1. The next match will be decisive for the young Indian squad facing the proteas.
On Tuesday, India lost the toss and was sent to bat first. However, the young lineup stumbled from the very start and could score only 211 runs from 46.2 overs. Meanwhile, South Africa surpassed the target in 42.3 overs, losing just two wickets. Openers Sai Sudarshan (62) and KL Rahul (56) gave a decent start for the Indian side but the game went wrong for India after the loss of the third wicket.
Nandre Burger who took three wickets along with Bueran Hendricks and Keshav Maharaj ripped apart the Indian batting lineup. Lizaad Williams and captain Aiden Markram took a wicket each. Tony de Zorzi (119*) and Reeza Raphael Hendricks(52) helped SA ease past the target set by India.
