THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Kaumudi and Kaumudy TV's musical ode to KS Chithra, the nightingale of Malayalam and South India, turned into a historic occasion. For thousands of fans, the musical night led by Chithra and held in a magnificent setting was an experience they will never forget.
The musical program was named Kaumudi Chaithra Nilavu. Vizhinjam International Seaport Limited MD Dr Divya S Iyer inaugurated the program. Divya said that Chitra holds a special place in the hearts of Malayalis across the globe. The program started with a short video screening of Chithra's life. Kerala Kaumudi Directors Lysa Srinivasan and Shailaja Ravi felicitated Chitra with a shawl and memento.
Along with Chitra, singers Afsal, Nishad and Anamika sang songs in the program. Gopinath Muthukad, OV Raphael, who composed the music for Chitra's first film song, musicians Bhavana Radhakrishnan, B. Arundhathi, and Chithra's sister KS Beena were also present. Kerala Kaumudi Thiruvananthapuram Unit Chief S Vikraman delivered the welcome speech.
