LONDON: A 16-year-old girl died after taking contraceptive pills to relieve menstrual cramps. The incident happened in the UK. The dead is Layla Khan. The girl was taking the medicine after her friends advised her to take birth control pills to ease the pain.

She started taking medicine continuously from November 25 to December 5. She began experiencing headaches and vomiting. The family took the girl to the hospital after her health deteriorated. However, the hospital authorities gave her tablet and said that she had a stomach bug and there was no reason to worry.

The doctor also told her to come again if the pain still exists. Her health deteriorated after returning home. She collapsed in the bathroom and was brought back to the hospital. A detailed examination revealed a blood clot in Layla’s brain. After undergoing surgery, she was declared brain dead. The family also informed that her organs have been donated.
