THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Clashes broke out at many places during the mass march organized by the Congress across the state. The Congress march was against the brutal beating of the KSU-Youth Congress workers who showed black flag to the Chief Minister. The march is being conducted to 564 police stations across the state under the leadership of constituency committees. Leader of the Opposition VD Satheesan inaugurated the secretariat march of the Youth Congress.
Police and activists clashed in front of various stations. In Kochi, the police used water cannons after the activists tried to overturn the barricade using ropes. Hundreds of workers are protesting in front of the Commissioner's Office under the leadership of DCC President Mohammad Shias.
During the march to Kannur Valapattanam station, there was a push and shove between the activists and the police. The police stopped the march with a barricade, but the conflict broke out when DCC president and others tried to grab cops' lathi. Many people, including women, have participated in the protest.
Conflict erupted at Mukkam Road in Kozhikode after the workers tried to enter a station by jumping the rope tied by the police.
