THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday responded to the allegations made by the Opposition Leader VD Satheesan. Lashing out at VD Satheesan, the Chief Minister said that he was not as brave as Satheesan. Speaking at Nava Kerala Sadas in Varkala, Pinarayi said that Satheesan should ask the KPCC president whether Pinarayi was a coward.

"Satheesan asked if the coward CM had no shame. What is there to be ashamed of? In the field of public service, I have been to all the places I had to go. I did not go to all those places under police protection. I went as a communist. I've faced guns, criminals and goons. I wasn't afraid of Youth Congress even during its heydays," Pinarayi said.

"I've seen him frequently referring to me as 'king'. I am not sitting here as the king of any sect. We all work as servants of the people. We do not see power as a position to display any glory. We're looking at how the poor can use power," the CM said.
