THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC president K. Sudhakaran will travel to US later this month to conduct treatment for muscle disorders. Sudhakaran will be away from Kerala politics for two weeks, but the congress leadership decided not to allow any interim KPCC president during Sudhakaran's absence.
He has been under treatment for two years for a disease called 'myasthenia gravis', which causes muscle weakness. Based on the suggestion of former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Sudhakaran contacted some expert doctors in the US and talked about the disease.
After returning from the US, both Sudhakaran and opposition leader Satheeshan will jointly conduct ‘Kerala Yatra’, across the state. The leadership is planning to start the yatra on January 21st or January 27th. Starting from Kasaragod, the leaders will tour 140 assembly constituencies and reach back to the capital in 28 days. ' The name "Samaragni Janakiya Agita Yatra" has been proposed but has not been finalized.
Due to legislative sessions in January, there is still doubt about the opposition leader attending the event. The LDF government conducted NKS event is mired in many controversies and it warrants the presence of the opposition leader, to take the Government to task inside the assembly.
