THIRUVANANNTHAPURAM: A man sustained serious injuries after being attacked by a bear in the Vithura-Peppara region in Thiruvananthapuram. The bear attacked Rajendran Kani, a native of Peppara Podiyakkala, on Thursday evening. Rajendran Kani's two hands were seriously injured.
A few months ago, a bear had died after falling into a well in Thiruvananthapuram. The bear died while the forest officials tried to capture it by tranquilising it. This had sparked a huge controversy.
Meanwhile, the surgery on the man-eater tiger captured from Wayanad has been completed. The big wound on the tiger's face was stitched up after a three-hour surgery. The tiger underwent surgery at Puthur Zoological Park. Park director R Keerthy IFS said the surgery was a success.
