ATTINGAL: Nisar and Sreekutty had to return home dejected after their hope to meet CM Pinarayi Vijayan at the NKS event got foiled. After applying at the counter, both of them were waiting to talk to the Chief Minister on the right side of the stage. But the police did not agree to let both of them to the venue due to security reasons. They wanted to convey to the CM the plight faced by differently-abled people in the state.

54-year-old Nisar, a native of Chathanpara doesn't have a home. He contracted polio early as a child which left his body paralyzed. It was only with the help of locals that Nisar reached the NKS event on Thursday at 9 am. He used to run a lottery shop but has now stopped it because of his deteriorating health. Nisar drags out a living with the help provided by his neighbours. However, Nisar was nonchalant and took no regret when he was denied permission to meet the CM.

Sreekutty, a 21-year-old girl from Kallambalam wanted a job and kept hoping that a meeting with CM could make things right. Sreekutty finds time to study while also helping her mother who works as a domestic help. She is currently a BA Malayalam graduate student at S.N. College, Varkala. She was allowed to reach the stage but got no opportunity to talk with the CM.
