NEW DELHI: The central government has allocated additional tax share to the states in view of the festive season and New Year. An additional tax share of Rs 72,961.21 crore has been allocated for various social welfare measures and infrastructure development projects. Kerala will get Rs 1404.50 crore from this.

This allocation is a temporary relief for Kerala which is facing severe financial crisis. The central government has informed that the installment is in addition to the tax share paid on December 11 and the tax share to be paid on January 10. Uttar Pradesh has been allocated the highest amount as tax share-Rs 13088 crores.
