THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Protest seeped every nook and corner of the capital city on Saturday. Congress found late momentum and amplified every form of protest against the government in response to the brutal torture hurled at them by police officials and DYFI workers over the past month.

Amidst the strong protest from every leader from Congress, Puthuppally MLA Chandy Oommen turned an anomaly with a one-man protest in front of his house in Jagathy. Wearing a black shirt, and dhoti, Chandy Oommen sits nonchalantly, occasionally responding to media while a bevvy of police officials looks on.

DYFI workers have come forward demanding an end to the protest while police have beefed up security at the MLA.

“ Opposition leader is the shadow CM of the state. I can only view the visuals that happened today in shock. While the opposition leader was talking water cannons were used. What is happening in the state? Even some people are approaching me to move away from this place. Is there no right to protest in this state? “ Chandy Oommen said.
