THRISSUR: An SFI central committee leader has made a threatening speech against the SI over the conflict between police and SFI activists in Chalakudy. It was SFI central committee member Hassan Mubarak who delivered a speech against Chalakudy sub-inspector Afzal. The SFI leader made the speech during a protest demonstration held in Chalakudy.

"We will break your hands and legs if you treat children like this. We don't mind going to Viyyur jail or Kannur jail or Poojappura for that. You are in a fool's paradise if you think you can stop SFI by showing some jail or lathi charge," Hassan Mubarak said.

SFI held the demonstration in Chalakudy with slogans demanding to end the hooliganism of SI Afzal.

A clash had taken place between ABVP and SFI activists in connection with the elections held at the government ITI in Chalakudy. Following this, the police reached the college and asked the SFI activists to remove the flags and banners installed inside the campus. Subsequently, after winning the elections, the SFI activists vandalized a police jeep the other day. The vehicle was vandalized under the leadership of DYFI leader Nidhin Pullen. Although the police later arrested Nidhin in this incident, CPM workers led by the area secretary stormed into the police station and forcefully released Nidhin from the station.

After this, the police took Nidhin into custody earlier today. According to the police report, he vandalized the police jeep after he was fined for not wearing a helmet. He vandalized the jeep while the policemen were inside the jeep.
