WAYANAD: Yet another tiger attack in Vakery. The tiger killed the eight-month-old-calf tied in the shed of Surendran of Vakery. The incident happened the other day at night.

Surendran saw the cow standing outside the shed this morning when he was going for his morning walk. When a search was conducted later, the half-eaten body of the calf was found inside the shed. It is concluded that the tiger attacked the calf. The tiger was spotted in Vakery and nearby Moodakolly. The place where the calf was killed is just five kilometers away from the spot where the man-eating tiger was caught by the forest department from Vakery. With this, the fear of Vakery residents has increased. The forest department officials and the police are checking the footprints of the tiger in Vakery.

Prajeesh, a farmer from Moodakolly near Vakery, was killed by a man-eating tiger on December 9. After a long search, the forest department caught the tiger and caged it last Tuesday. The tiger was then shifted to Puthur Zoo in Thrissur. A week ago, the tiger had killed a cow tied in a stable at a place called Njaattadi. This is followed by another tiger attack.
