CHENNAI: Popular Tamil actor and comedian Bonda Mani passed away. He was 60. For the past one year, he was undergoing treatment for kidney related ailments. Mani fainted on Saturday night at 11.30 pm and though he was rushed to the hospital, his life could not be saved.
Bonda Mani was the native of Mannar district in Srilanka. His debut film was Bhagyaraj’s Pavunnu Pavunudhaan in 1911. He has acted as a comedian in Sundara Travels, Marutha Mala, Winner, Velayudham and many others.
He last acted in Paruva Kathal released in 2022. He was undergoing treatment after both his kidneys were damaged. There were reports of the actor struggling to meet his medial expenses. Many actors later came to his rescue.
