KANNUR: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the opposition leader tried to create tension in the Navakerala Sadas but nothing happened. The natives obeyed the order to show self-restraint. The Chief Minister said in Kannur that the Congress could not create the kind of provocation they intended. The Chief Minister's statement comes in the context of widespread attacks by the police and CPM workers at the people who showed black flags against the Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, the ADGP has directed to give good service entry to officers who have rendered good service in maintaining law and order in connection with Navakerala Sadas. MR Ajith Kumar, ADGP in charge of law and order, has instructed the SPs and DIGs to give good service entry to civil police officers and above who have performed well in their duties of law and order in Navakerala Sadas extending from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram.

Navakerala Sadas were conducted by deploying several police officers for duty. The protests, including those of the Youth Congress and Yuva Morcha, resulted in clashes at many places. The court had also directed to file a case against the chief minister's gunman.
