THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor and director Major Ravi, who joined the BJP the other day, was nominated as the state vice-president. C Reghunath, a former Congress leader from Kannur, who joined the BJP along with Major Ravi, was also nominated to the national council. C Reghunath is a leader who contested against Pinarayi Vijayan at Dharmadom in the last assembly elections. National President J P Nadda greeted the two after giving them party membership.
There are indications that Major Ravi will be a BJP candidate in the Lok Sabha elections in Kerala. BJP sources said more leaders will join the party in the coming days.
Meantime, recently actor Devan was also appointed as the state BJP vice-president. This was informed by state president K Surendran via Facebook. Devan who formed Kerala People's Party merged his party into the BJP. With Lok Sabha elections ahead, the leadership is trying to bring more prominent people to the party.
