NEW DELHI: Air and rail services were disrupted in Delhi yesterday morning due to heavy fog. Visibility was reduced to 50 meters (164 ft) due to snowfall. Subsequently, 30 flights including international services scheduled to depart and land from Delhi, were delayed. Five flights were diverted to Jaipur between 8.30 am and 10 am. Many planes landed with the help of instrument landing system.
The planes that could not use the system were diverted. Airlines have warned passengers that bad weather may affect services. All 14 Delhi-bound trains were affected by the fog. The weather is similar in the states of Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.
