THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sabarimala has received a record revenue during this year's mandala period. The revenue has risen to Rs 241.71 crore with the kanikka income yet to be counted. There was an increase of Rs 18.72 crore from last time.
Meanwhile, there was no rush of pilgrims today, the day of the Mandala Puja. The line of pilgrims thinned to the queue complex. Mandalakala Pilgrimage will conclude today with Mandala Pooja.
More than one lakh people have been coming for darshan in the last two days. With this, the control measures also failed. In addition to 90,000 virtual queues and 10,000 spot bookings, many people were coming to Sannidhanam through Kanana Patha and Pulmedu. The police said that they are providing darshan facilities to all who come since the nada will be closing today. The nada will open again on 30th at 5 pm for Makaravilak.
Yesterday, the queue stretched for 15 hours. Even yesterday there was a situation where devotees who could not reach Sannidhanam had to go back after breaking the Nei Thenga at the Pandalam. This happened two weeks ago as well and it was widely criticized.
