THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress Working Committee Member AK Antony turns 83 today. Coincidentally, today is also the day Congress is completing 139 years. Therefore, Antony, who does not celebrate his own birthday even inside or outside the house, will have to participate in the birthday celebration this time.

Although he has no official party responsibilities in day-to-day affairs, he regularly communicates with the national and state leadership and everyone from party seniors to youth congress leaders. He also gives good attention to current issues including political developments in the country and Kerala.

No major health problems and still energetic, Anthony wakes up at half past five in the morning and walks around the house for exercise. Detailed newspaper reading after that followed by breakfast at 8 am that includes two idlis, one egg and small fruit. Fish curry, some vegetables and a handful of rice for afternoon lunch.

From 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm, he compulsorily visits KPCC and shares information with those who come to visit him. If there are more people, the time will be extended further. A single chapati and vegetable curry for dinner followed by bedtime at ten o'clock.

During his time at home, Antony sometimes watches TV, reads books, news, news-based programs and occasionally films. He will read anything he likes including novels, other serious books and autobiography. He was infected with covid twice. The first time went a little worse. It's a bit difficult for him to walk now.

"I don't celebrate birthdays. I will participate in the Congress Foundation Day celebrations organized at KPCC.
