NEW DELHI: The new variant of Covid, JN1, has been confirmed in 157 people in the country. Highest number of patients are in Kerala. 78 people have been infected in Kerala. There are patients in nine states at present. The Union Ministry of Health has released the figures in this regard.

Gujarat has the second highest number of patients. 34 have been infected in Gujarat. Goa (18), Karnataka (8), Maharashtra (7), Rajasthan (5), Tamil Nadu (4), Telangana (2) and Delhi (1) are the other states with confirmed cases. Out of the current 157 cases, 141 were confirmed in the month of December. 16 cases were confirmed in November.
