THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister MB Rajesh announced that K Smart, the state government undertaking to make services of local bodies available through an online platform, will start on January 1. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the scheme at the Kochi Gokulam Convention Center at 10:30 am. K Smart mobile app will be launched by Minister P Rajeev.
In the first phase, it will be implemented in corporations and municipalities. It will be extended to panchayats from April 1. K SMART (Kerala Solutions for Managing Administrative Reformation and Transformation) was developed by the Information Kerala Mission. It is the first time in the country that an extensive online service is being implemented in local institutions.
In the first phase, services such as birth, death, marriage registration, license for trades and industries, property tax, user management, file management, finance module, building permission and public grievance redressal will be made available through K Smart.
