NEW DELHI: The chargesheet of the Enforcement Directorate has alleged that Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi and her husband Robert Vadra are involved in the land transaction case involving expatriate businessman and Malayali CC Thambi, who is related to arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari.

It is said in the charge sheet that both are not accused, but a land deal was done. Although Robert's name has appeared in the charge sheet before, Priyanka's name is appearing for the first time.

Names of Sanjay Bhandari, CC Thambi and Sumit Chadha who is a British national of Indian origin, have been mentioned in the charge sheet in the money laundering case. Priyanka has refused to respond.

Arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari, who left for the UK in 2016, has been charged with violations of the Official Secrets Act and foreign exchange violations. ED had alleged that Sanjay renovated the house he bought in London in 2009 using Robert Vadra's money. ED also said that Robert has stayed in this house several times.

Congress leaders responded that the BJP is targeting the opposition leaders in view of the elections.
