KOLLAM: A man killed his father by hitting him on the head with a hammer in Moonamkutty in Kollam's Mangadu. The deceased has been identified as Ravindran, of Indraneelam in Thavittumukku. His son Akhil has been arrested by the police.

The accused admitted to the police that the reason for the murder was an argument with his father. The murder took place around 2 pm today. Ravindran and Akhil were together in their shop when an argument broke out.

As the argument escalated, Akhil was angered and hit his father on the head with an iron hammer kept in the shop. After this, Ravindran was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved. The accused was then arrested by the police.

The employee who was working in the shop has also been taken into custody by the police.
