AYODHYA: As per indications, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the Sri Ram Temple here on January 22, by raising the curtain in front of the main idol 'Ram Lalla' (child Ram). First, a mirror will be shown to Ram's face. Later, to avoid the evil eye, Modi will apply eye makeup to Ram's eyes and wear clothes woven from golden silk. The idol will then be taken for a procession. Prana Pratishtha will be performed in the auspicious moment in the 84 seconds between 12:29:8 PM and 12:30:32 PM. 56 groups of food dishes will be offered to Lord Ram. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will perform the first aarti.

Before the ceremony, water from Sarayu river water will be sprinkled to purify the area.

Only five people including Modi will be enter the shrine. Others are Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandi Ben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and chief priest Acharya Satyendra Das. The old idol of Ram Lalla will be taken out for procession city on important days like Ram Navami.
