AYODHYA: As the Sri Ram Temple is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22, 2024, the temple trust has announced that the selection process for the main idol, Ram Lala, has been completed. Rama Janmabhoomi Tirtha Temple Trustee Bhimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra said that the form of the Murthy, which was unanimously selected, would be delivered next month for Prana Pratishta (consecration). A meeting to select the Ram idol was held on Friday.

Amidst all the beautiful idols placed, one idol stood different and all eyes were fixated on to it. A voting system was implemented and everyone voted according to their choice. Mishra also clarified that the rest of the matters will be decided by the secretary of Sri Rama Janmabhoomi Theertha Temple, Champat Rai.

Three Ram Lala idols were prepared for the consecration ceremony. It was earlier decided that one idol from the three would be placed in the main shrine. The idols of Ram Lala are carved in white marble, granite and dark-coloured stone called Schist. Ram Lala is lord Ram in his childhood form.
