BENGALURU: The brother of a BJP MP was arrested for felling trees worth crores from government land. Vikram Simha, brother of the controversial MP Pratap Simha, who issued a visitor’s pass to the accused to enter the parliament, was arrested.

126 trees worth crores were felled in Hassan district of Karnataka. The tree felling came to notice after the Tehsildar visited the place. The forest department officials were immediately informed and a case was registered. 126 big trees of 50 to 60 years old were felled from 12 acres of land. The forest department conducted an investigation, but Vikram fled to Bengaluru. The forest department arrested him with the help of the police. Vikram will now be taken to Hassan for further proceedings in the case.

After the security lapse in Parliament, 146 MPs were suspended, but no action was taken against Pratap Simha, who issued the pass to the accused. Huge protests broke out over this. Pratap Simha responded that the people will decide whether he is a patriot or a traitor in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Amidst this, his brother was arrested t in the case of felling and smuggling trees.
