THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Amidst the bruise suffered from former KPCC president V M Sudheeran’s strong criticism of the current KPCC leadership, Congress started preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The move is to speed up the preparations in all the constituencies by resolving the reorganization disputes quickly. The leadership looks to mend all ties and wants a united congress to fight for the upcoming elections.

Former KPCC president and senior leader V.M. Sudheeran's criticisms led to a war of words between Sudhakaran and Sudheeran in the executive committee meeting, which was formed to assess the preparation for the elections. Most of the senior leaders were dismayed by Sudheeran’s untimely criticism just when the congress was on the front foot in Kerala.

No congress leader with organizational responsibilities has responded to Sudheeran’s criticism. In addition to this, the re-organization is also visible at the grassroots level. Efforts are being made to revamp the party structure before the start of election campaigning.

In the executive committee meeting, which was also attended by AICC General Secretary Deepa Das Munshi, who is in charge of Kerala, it was proposed to intensify the booth-level changes. she also insisted the party focus more on ward-level communication with voters.

Many people, including leaders from Group A, have complained to Deepa Das Munshi about organizational fallouts, but the West Bengal leader asked the workers to keep all disputes aside and work coherently to ensure victory.

KPCC officials will participate in district-level meetings. In addition to this, senior leaders will be given responsibility at the assembly level. Leaders hailing from the same consistuency won’t be allotted responsibility of that particular assembly seat and the assigned leaders need to work closely with the General Secretary in charge of the constituency. They will continue in each assembly constituency till the election is announced. They are also responsible for resolving any complaints including organizational matters.
