KOZHIKODE: Senior leader P Jayarajan has warned the CPM workers to treat the people who helped the party come to power with dignity and humility. He called on the party workers to never show pride in being in power to the people. The former Kannur district secretary was speaking at a function organized in Kozhikode.

According to Jayarajan, the party should give more importance to the stance than votes. Jayarajan also said that the CPM's stance is to protect the country's secularism. He added that the party will correct if it has made a mistake.

Lashing out at Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Jayarajan said that the Governor, who rarely visited Kerala, made it a habit of verbally abusing the chief minister. He was inaugurating the discussion organized on the topic of whether the Governor's post is a colonial remnant.

"The Governor, who is also the Chancellor, is trying to destroy the higher education sector. He is trying to saffronise the universities. The Governor is making a mockery of the Constitution and the Supreme Court by withholding the bills passed by the Assembly," Jayarajan said.
