THRISSUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Thrissur tomorrow to participate in a women's conference and road show organized by BJP and Mahila Morcha. Collector VR Krishna Teja will receive the Prime Minister who will land at the Kuttanellur helipad at 2 pm. He will reach Thrissur Swaraj round by car and will be received by BJP national and state leaders.
The road show will start in front of the District General Hospital and pass via Thekke Gopura Nada, Manikantanal and Naduvilal to conclude at Naikkanal. He will address a meeting of two lakh women at Thekkinkadu Maidanam at 3 p.m. Film actress Shobhana, Indian Olympic Association president PT Usha MP, cricketer Minnu Mani, welfare pension protestor Mariyakutty, social activist Uma Preman, Dr Shoshamma Ipe who dedicated her life for Vechur cows and industrialist Bina Kannan will share the stage with the Prime Minister.
Union Minister V Muraleedharan, Prakash Javadekar MP, Radhamohan Aggarwal MP, national leaders AP Abdullahkutty, Tom Vadkan, Anil Antony, BJP state president K Surendran, Suresh Gopi, Mahila Morcha state president Nivedita Subramanian, BJP ex-state presidents and around forty people will be on the stage. Modi will return to Nedumbassery at half past four.
City under police cordon
Security is tight in Thrissur. The city is under SPG control. A trial run was conducted today from Kuttanellur under the leadership of SPG, city police and district administration. 101 artists under the leadership of Kizhakkoottu Aniyan Marar prepared an instrumental wonder this evening. Traffic will be restricted from tomorrow morning.
