THRISSUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Thrissur on Wednesday to attend a women's conference and road show organized by the BJP and Mahila Morcha. Collector V R Krishna Teja will receive the Prime Minister who will land at the Kuttanellur helipad at 2 pm. Modi reaching Thrissur Swaraj round by car will be received by BJP national and state leaders.

The road show starts in front of the district general hospital. It will end at Naikkanal from Thekkegopura Nada, Manikandanal and Naduvilal. The Prime Minister will address a gathering of two lakh women at Thekkinkadu Maidan at 3 pm.


Actress Shobana, Indian Olympic Association president P T Usha MP, cricketer Minnu Mani, welfare pension campaigner Mariyakutty, social worker Uma Preman, Dr Sosamma Iype who sacrificed her life for Vechur cows and industrialist Beena Kannan will share the stage with the Prime Minister.


Union Minister V Muraleedharan, Prakash Javadekar MP, Radhamohan Aggarwal MP, national leaders A P Abdullahkutty, Tom Vadakkan, Anil Antony, BJP state president K Surendran, Suresh Gopi, Mahilamorcha state president Nivedita Subramanian, former BJP state presidents and around forty people will be on the stage. Modi will return to Nedumbassery at 4.30 pm.


City under police cordon
There is tight security in Thrissur. The city is under SPG control. A trial run was conducted yesterday from Kuttanellur under the leadership of SPG, city police and district administration. 101 artists, under the leadership of the East brothers, also prepared an instrumental performance last evening. Traffic has been restricted since this morning.
