THRISSUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Kerala to participate in the women-centric program ‘ Sthreesakthi Modikoppam’, which will be held at Thekkinkadu Maidan in Thrissur. PM Modi reached Kochi Nedumbassery airport by a special flight from Agatti( Lakshadweep) and then reached Thrissur by helicopter which landed at Kuttanellur helipad in Thrissur.
BJP leaders will welcome the Prime Minister's motorcade near the District General Hospital to the Swaraj Round. Starting from the General Hospital Junction, the roadshow will travel for one kilometre through the divine Thekke Gopura Nada, Manikandanal and Naduvilal junctions. The roadshow will culminate near the conference venue in Naikkanal.
The Prime Minister will address around two lakh women at the conference to be held at Thekkinkadu Maidan. The attendance at the stage includes popular women faces including Mariyakutty, who carried out a protest with a pitch pot, PT Usha, President of the Indian Olympic Association, Minnumani, the Malayalee player of the Indian women's cricket team, and veteran actress Shobhana is few of the names included in the list.
The Prime Minister's program in Thrissur is scheduled from 3 pm to 4:30 pm. Security has been beefed up in the city on account of the PM’s visit. Only women are allowed to enter into the conference stage where PM Modi will soon give his speech.
BJP leaders including actor Suresh Gopi and state president K Surendran will also accompany the Prime Minister on the roadshow. Apart from PM Modi, the spotlight will also fall on probable BJP candidate from Thrissur, Suresh Gopi.
