MALAPPURAM: The State President of the Muslim League, Sadiqali Thangal faced severe criticism after excluding youth leaders from the Jamia Nooriya Sanad Donation Conference in Pattikkad.
A pamphlet circulated alleging Sadiq Ali's behavior and extreme arrogance claiming that leadership positions within institutions and mahalla are inherited rather than earned through merit or religious standing. It expressed admiration for the virtues and leadership qualities of Panakkad ancestors lamenting that Sadiq Ali's assumed leadership post their demise. The pamphlet, linked to a faction opposing the League within Samasta hinted at a response brewing against those silencing voices in the conference city itself.
The controversy erupted due to the exclusion of regular speakers like Abdul Hameed Faizi Ambalakkadavu, the Working General Secretary of Sunni Youth League (SYS) and Sathar Panthallur, the State Vice President of SKSSF.
Allegations surfaced regarding the exclusion of critics of the League and Sadiqali. Abdul Hameed Faizi Ambalakkadavu accused Sadiqali of irreligious conduct for cutting a Christmas cake leading to his exclusion. Notably, SYS leaders close to the League such as Nasser Faizi Koodathai, were invited. Former students of Pattikkad are supporting Hameed Faizi on social media.
Responding to media queries, Sadiqali Thangal claimed unawareness about the exclusion of all youth leaders. Despite protests, the Sanad Donation Conference commenced yesterday.
