THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Lok Sabha elections are around the corner and all political parties have thus upped preparations to gain a foothold in Kerala. UDF is readying plans to interact more with people through an array of programs which will have participation from top leaders. LDF just culminated the ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ amidst hullabaloo over rogue conduct from officers and party workers. BJP has brought out their trump card, PM Modi in Thrissur to resuscitate the party’s chances in A-class constituencies.
CPM has levelled the attack against the Governor as part of its political project and it has paid dividends to a considerable extent. The animosity coupled with the deftly handled PR work has hit the right chord with the public and CPM will make the most of this to pile all the blame on the central government for the state's poor financial management.
Adding to this, Manipur and Palestine will also take centre stage to rope in votes for the LDF. The party reckons that if meticulous work in candidate selection is made, the left can gain big in elections.
BJP started its campaign activities by fielding Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Thrissur. At the vent organized in Thrissur, PM Modi unravelled his oratory prowess and made the crowd chant with him BJP’s newly wielded election catchphrase, ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’. The event which saw more than two lakh women participation was spectacular and might have already put many BJP leaders in election reverie. Amidst this, the BJP looks to field a veteran candidate in Thiruvananthapuram consistency where the saffron party came second in 2019.
UDF is trying to retain the 19 seats won in 2019. The Congress's central leadership has already asked leaders to keep aside the infighting and focus on winning the elections. However, congress was caught in a fix after ambiguity loomed on whether to accept the Ram Trust invite to the Ram temple inauguration ceremony. BJP and CPM will take the issue to highlight the dubious conduct of the Congress party in Kerala.
