KOZHIKODE: A youth was arrested for pushing his friend to death from the building. Lalu killed his friend Abdul Majeed, a native of Vengeri. The murder was committed on the midnight of December 31st at Thadambattu Thazhathu.

Abdul Majeed was initially thought to have died after falling from the building. It was identified as a murder after the post-mortem report came. The police said that on the night of the incident, Abdul Majeed and his friends climbed up the building to consume liquor.

During hours of drinking, Majeed and Lalu indulged in a heated argument. Meanwhile, Lalu pushed Abdul Majeed down. He suffered severe head injuries in the fall. All his friends initially said Abdul Majeed had fallen from the building. After the post mortem report was obtained, the accused confessed to the crime during interrogation.
