THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Medical colleges that exhibit discrepancies in PG course admissions will have their admissions prohibited for two years. Students admitted to the college through irregularities will also be expelled. Double this number of seats will be reduced in the coming years.
Colleges should give admission to students only through unified counselling. Admission to all PG seats has been made merit-based. From this year onwards, admission across the country will be given only to students included in the All India and State Merit Lists based on the scores achieved in the NEET and NExT exams. Fees for all PG courses should be declared in advance. Otherwise, those seats will be excluded from counselling. The National Medical Commission has notified the revised regulation of PG courses by including strict conditions.
All PG students must pass the online course on research. They must also pass the Ethics certificate course. Students will not be allowed to write the PG exam without passing this course, which includes clinical and laboratory practice. Candidates in any PG stream must have passed Basic Cardiac and Advanced Cardiac Life Support courses. These courses enable doctors of all categories to save lives in emergencies. They should also get trained in Medical Audit, Medical Law, Human Behaviour, Finance and Accounts.
Reservation principle will be followed
Counselling will be carried out by following the reservation principle of the state. The current reservation will continue. Admission to vacant seats will also be through central counselling. Admission can be completed in one month in unified counselling. As a result, classes can start early. A single registration is sufficient for central and state quotas. Students can give any number of options.
Irregularities will disappear
