THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state is likely to receive heavy rainfall today as well. Following the rain warning, a yellow alert has been issued in Idukki and Palakkad districts. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that these districts are likely to receive isolated heavy rainfall.

Isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram district are likely to receive light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in the next three hours. Strong winds with a speed of up to 40 kmph are also likely to blow in the district.

The IMD also said that isolated places in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts are likely to receive moderate rain, while isolated places in Kannur and Kasaragod districts are likely to receive light rain. The IMD has warned that the rain will continue tomorrow as well. A yellow alert has been issued in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts tomorrow.
