SULTHAN BATHERY: Another tiger attack in Vakeri Moodakolli. A tiger attacked a pig farm in the area and killed 20 pigs weighing around fifty kilos. A pile of pig carcasses was found in the bushes on the forest border about fifty meters away from the farm. Two piglets were also found dead at the farm. Farm owner Karikulam Sreenesh said that the attack took place last night. There was a tiger attack on the farm six years ago. Sreenesh pointed out that there are also attacks by elephants.
The forest department reached the spot and checked the footprints near the farm and confirmed that a tiger was behind the attack. It has also been decided to set up a cage in the area to catch the tiger. The people expressed their anger against the forest department officials who came to the spot for inspection. The locals demanded that a cage be set up immediately and that the owner of the pig farm be compensated. The new tiger has arrived just about one and a half kilometres away from the area where dairy farmer Thottathil Prajeesh (36) was discovered killed and partially eaten by the man-eating tiger of Koodallur.
