KOLLAM: On the day Dr. Vandanadas was killed by an intoxicated accused in Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital, Malavika was very scared and could not sleep. The next day she told her father Saji 'I want to learn karate'. Rakhi's mother got consfused, 'What's with the sudden excitement?' 'Haven't you seen Dr Vandana's experience? If you want to knock down an attacker, you should learn karate". So Malvika started karate training.
Malavika read all the news about Dr Vandana who was into acting and dancing. She watched the news about Dr Vandana repeatedly on YouTube. Malavika, a class IX student of Mahatma Gandhi Higher Secondary School, Chadayamangalam, took another decision. Dr Vandana should be presented as a mono act for the school art festival. She started training for it. Abilash who is from the field of art also helped her.
When Malavika portrayed Vandana's desire to become a great doctor ending in the brutality of a vile man, the pain of that depiction spread to the audience as well. Malavika also portrayed how drug use destroys a generation. She got an A grade. It is Malvika's dream to become a doctor without giving up art.
Malavika was the best actress at the Chadayamangalam Subdistrict Arts Festival. Actress Aishwarya Lakshmi MBBS is her favourite star. Malvika's father Saji is a loco pilot, mother Rakhi is a teacher and brother Rishikesh is an engineering student.
"It is necessary for girls to learn martial arts these days. It would be good if there was an opportunity for that in the schools themselves.
