sreekumaran-thampi

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Poet and film director Sreekumaran Thampi, opened up about the heartrending loss of his sister Tulasi Gopinath in an interview with Kerala Kaumudi. His grief stemmed from a family history marked by tragedy: four younger brothers succumbed to death at birth before Thulasi's arrival. Despite an age gap of 11 years, she showered him with maternal affection, reminiscent of their late mother's care. Her culinary skills mirrored their mother's making every dish she prepared a taste of home.

Thulasi shared a deep bond with Sreekumaran Thampi's son who tragically passed away 14 years ago. His departure compounded his anguish akin to the agony experienced by Arjuna after the loss of his son Abhimanyu.

In a sorrow-laden revelation Thambi disclosed the passing of his brothers PV Thampi and PG Thambi leaving only him and his younger brother Prasannavadanan Thampi as the surviving family members.

Expressing deep sorrow and grief, Thampi recounted the emotional turmoil caused by these successive losses likening it to a paralysis of the spirit. He lamented the pain of witnessing younger family members bid farewell while the elder ones endure, a poignant reality that has left him shattered. He also shared a poem on his Facebook account.
