NEW DELHI: A Shyam Varn (dark hue) idol of Ram Lalla (infant Rama) will consecrated in the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Thexd details were released by Champat Rai, General Secretary of Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Temple Trust.

Among the three idols prepared for the consecration, the 51-inch tall idol carved in Krishna Shila was finally decided.

Champat Rai said that the idol has the adoration of a five-year-old boy, the divinity of Lord Vishnu and the dignity of a king. The idol is carved from a stone which does not get damaged by contact with milk and other anointing substances. Ramlalla is enshrined in the Garbhagriha on the ground floor of the temple complex. The picture has not been released. Earlier, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi had released the image of Rama with Sita through X.

Champat Rai also informed that the idol of Rama and Sita sitting on the golden throne will be placed on the first floor. This idol will also feature Lakshmana, Bharata and Shatrughnan and Hanuman kneeling with folded hands. It will take up to eight months to complete the construction here.

Varanasi priest Lakshmikant Dixit will be the chief priest at the temple, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22.
