KOZHIKODE: LDF convenor EP Jayarajan said there is nothing wrong in the song eulogizing Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. There is nothing wrong in songs or films being made about individuals liked by the people and it is quite natural Party's censure of P Jayarajan Army (PJ Army) is old history. There is no need to discuss it now, said Jayarajan.
EP Jayarajan also criticized Governor Arif Muhammad Khan. People have the right to meet the governor and raise their issues. However, the governor cannot solve the problems of the farmers and the people, only the elected government can. EP Jayarajan also alleged that the Governor is giving trouble to the farmers by not approving the law which was unanimously passed by the Assembly.
The video song 'Kerala CM' released eulogizing the chief minister was widely discussed on social media. The opposition mocked and criticized the video. The video was shared on the YouTube channel 'Saj Production House'. Nishant Nila composed the lyrics, music and direction of the song. The first part of the video has scenes showing that the gold smuggling controversy raised against the Pinarayi government was a planned one.
‘Pinarayi Vijayan...nadinte ajyyan...nattarkkellam suparichithan...theeyil kuruthoru kuthiraye...kodungattil parakkunna kazhukane...begins the song. The video also has lyrics such as ‘Manasu da thangam, maas da pulli, nadannu vannal puliyeda, maas da annan, claas da annan’. Pinarayi Vijayan's party activities of Brennan College have also been expressed in the video.
After the video went viral on social media, there was criticism from some left-wing circles. 'Kerala CM' came out after the controversy over the song praising Pinarayi Vijayan in mega thiruvathira. The then party secretary Pinarayi Vijayan had earlier strongly criticized V S Achuthanandan's cutouts ahead of the assembly elections.
When songs, campaigns and slogans were raised in Kannur in praise of P Jayarajan, the party's state committee intervened that day. Jayarajan was censured then. After the song became controversial, the district committee appointed an inquiry commission. The report that came said Jayarajan had no role in trying to highlight the person.
The appearance of posts praising Jayarajan in the name of PJ Army was also a headache for the party. Later the name of this page was changed to Red Army. Boards showing Pinarayi Vijayan as Arjuna and P Jayarajan as Sree Krishna were put up in Kannur Thalap which caused much criticism.
