IDUKKI: A plantation worker, Parimalam from Panniyar lost her life in a wild elephant attack this morning in the Chinnakanal area. She was attacked by a group of six wild elephants while on her way to work. Parimalam was rushed to Theni Medical College Hospital but sadly succumbed to her injuries.

Moreover, a wild elephant known as Padayappa created havoc by entering the Kammimala Estate in Munnar damaging crops and causing disturbances in the residential area. Locals reported that Padayappa has been lingering in the vicinity for several days.

In another incident in Gudallur, a three-year-old girl named Nancy, daughter of Sivashankar and Milan Devi from Jharkhand was fatally attacked by a tiger while returning home from Anganwadi with her father. This incident led to a hartal in Panthallur prompting local residents to block roads in Gudallur and Panthallur taluks affecting traffic to Kerala via Nadukanichuram.
