NEDUMANGAD: In a tragic incident, a 17-year-old died after the rope of the ring got tangled around his neck during morning exercise. The deceased has been identified as Dhanush (Appu), a native of Anad. The Nedumangad police said that the rope may have accidentally got tangled around the boy's neck.
The incident took place at around 6.30 am on Monday. Dhanush's father Anilkumar and mother Sindhu were at home at the time of the incident. It was Sindhu who first saw Dhanush lying unconscious on the terrace. On hearing Sindhu's cry, Anilkumar soon rushed to the terrace, untied the rope and rushed Dhanush to the Nedumangad District Hospital. However, his life could not be saved. Dhanush, a Plus Two computer science student at Anad SNV Higher Secondary School, has a black belt in karate.
After conducting the post-mortem at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College, the body is currently kept at the mortuary of the Nedumangad District Hospital. The funeral will take place at Shanthitheeram in Kallampara at around 9.30 am today.
