THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A woman was arrested in Thiruvananthapuram for committing financial fraud of lakhs by pretending to be an employee of the Reserve Bank. The arrested has been identified as Shibila (28), a native of Akambadam in Nilambur in Malappuram. Nilambur SHO Sunil told Keralakaumudi Online that they were caught from Balaramapuram.
The arrest was made by Nilambur Police and DANSAF. It is alleged that the accused committed fraud by making people believe that they can get a huge amount of money as a business loan. The accused had made relatives and locals believe that she was an employee of the Reserve Bank.
She had promised to give loans to a businessman in Nilambur. The accused also received Rs.30 lakhs for this. When she asked for money again, the businessman went to Thiruvananthapuram Reserve Bank and inquired about the employee's information. After this, he realized Shibila's fraud.
The arrest was made after the court issued a warrant on the businessman's complaint. After the accused was caught, many people approached the police with complaints that the woman had taken amounts ranging from
Rs 4 lakh to 10 lakh. The police is preparing for a detailed investigation into the incident.
