THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Man who had gone to Mumbai to work on a ship dies in an accident. He died after falling from the fourth floor of the lodge where he was staying. Rajan's son Rahul (21), a resident of Parassala, Thiruvananthapuram, is the one who died.
The staff of the lodge informed about Rahul's accident at 3:30 am on Tuesday. Rahul had started from Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday morning and reached Navi Mumbai on Monday night as per the request of the job placement agency. He had talked to his family and friends on the phone till 11 o'clock that night but according to the relatives the staff of the lodge said that Rahul was seen dead at around 1.45 am on the ground as if he fell from the fourth floor of the lodge. Relatives have come forward alleging that the incident was suspicious. The body will be brought home after post-mortem.
The family paid for the work by selling the property as per the son's request. Relatives filed a complaint with the Parassala police demanding an investigation into the death.
A firm based in Kuzhithurai, Tamil Nadu offered Rahul a job on a ship after taking Rs 6 lakh. Relatives also say that Rahul had gone to Mumbai twice as requested by the organization.
