PALAKKAD: A two-member gang who came in an auto rickshaw attacked two trans people in Palakkad on Wednesday night. The incident took place near Palakkad BEM School. Nasar (56), a native of Pirayiri and Maya (24) suffered injuries in the attack.

At 11 pm on Wednesday, the two trans people were standing near the school premises when the auto-rickshaw came near them and stopped. Very soon, a verbal spat took place between them and it escalated to violence. According to the complaint, the accused hit Maya on the face with a stone and thrashed her with an iron rod.

The injured have been shifted to Palakkad District Hospital. The culprits are now at large while an investigation is ongoing. The Palakkad Town South Police informed that they are investigating further details of the incident and currently no case has been registered against anyone.
