NEW DELHI: The National Commission for Child Rights has issued a notice to YouTube India to produce a list of channels posting obscene videos featuring mothers and children. The notice has been sent to Meera Chat, Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy, YouTube India. NCPCR chief Priyanka Kanungo stated in the letter that the trend of shooting obscene videos involving mothers and children is a cause for concern. Meera Chat has also been asked to appear before the Child Rights Commission on January 15.

Such videos raise serious concerns for the welfare and safety of children. The viewers of these videos include minors. This also raises concerns, the letter said. According to Sections 13 and 14 of the Commission for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005, a complete list of such channels should be submitted.

The instruction is given. Some of the challenge videos on YouTube are also reported to include lewd acts between mothers and daughters, and kissing between mothers and teenage sons.
