ALAPPUZHA: Actor and BJP leader Suresh Gopi has taken over the entire financial liability of the family of KG farmer Prasad, who committed suicide after being denied a bank loan. Suresh Gopi made the announcement after he came across the Kerala Kaumudi report about the Scheduled Caste Development Corporation sending a notice to confiscate Prasad's house and property. It was BJP Environment Cell State Co-Convenor and Upper Kuttanad Agriculture Development Committee Chairman Gopan Chennithala who brought the report to the notice of Suresh Gopi.

On the instructions of Suresh Gopi, Gopan Chennithala went to the Scheduled Caste Development Corporation on Thursday and collected the details regarding the self-employment loan in the name of Prasad's wife Omana. Gopan Chennithala said that the entire amount will be paid on Friday morning. Suresh Gopi's office also confirmed this. Debts will be settled after assessing the liabilities of Prasad by contacting microfinance companies and those who gave him loans.

As per Suresh Gopi's instructions, Gopan Chennithala went to Prasad's house in Kunnumma in Thakazhy and met Omana and her children. He informed the family about the matter. Omana and her family along with Gopan Chennithala and BJP leaders will reach the Scheduled Castes Development Corporation office in Alappuzha on Friday morning to pay the money.

Hundred thanks to Kerala Kaumudi
"Kerala Kaumudi came to us when my family and I had no clue what to do. After Kerala Kaumudi published the report, many people contacted us and extended support. A fan of Suresh Gopi from Mumbai sent us Rs 17,600 through Google Pay. Gopan Chennithala came and told us about Suresh Gopi's promise when we were about to pay this money to the corporation. It was Kerala Kaumudi that helped us. A hundred thanks to Kerala Kaumudi," Omana said.
