NEW DELHI: CPM politburo member Brinda Karat wholly denied reports that her new book critiqued the left party. According to a report that emerged earlier, it was mentioned that Brinda revealed in the book about being sidelined by the party during her nascent stage and said that she was accepted only after she married CPM strongman Prakash Karat.

Meanwhile, Brinda responded to the reports in strong words saying the news was weaved in such a way to spread disinformation. It was one Malayalam channel that first published the excerpt from Brinda’s new book which is titled ‘An Education for Rita’ which is a memoir of the leader's tryst with the party between the years of 1975-85. Responding to the news, Brinda asked the Malayalam channel to put up an apology for meddling in such fake news and cleared the air saying she hadn’t written anything critiquing the party in her book.

“ Giving such devious headlines to garner views is anathema to journalistic ethos. The reference in the memoir was distorted. I have received no such experience from the party. The book is publicly available and anyone interested can read it,” she said.
