THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Youth Congress state president Rahul Mamkootathil has demanded compensation for CPM state secretary MV Govindan's fake medical certificate allegation. Rahul has sent a notice against MV Govindan demanding a compensation of Rs 1 crore. Govindan is also asked to call a press conference and apologise.

MV Govindan had alleged that Rahul Mamkootathil produced a fake certificate to get bail and that efforts are being made to cover up the failure and make him a hero. He had also said that Rahul should show the integrity to go to jail.

The Youth Congress had earlier stated that legal action would be taken against MV Govindan's statement that Rahul had submitted a fake medical certificate along with the bail application. The Youth Congress State Committee informed that the lawyer has sent a notice to MV Govindan through Adv Mridul John demanding compensation of Rs One crore according to this.

State Committee of Youth Congress said that after the press conference, it has become clear that MV Govindan's statement is a blatant lie. The statement of the CPM state secretary that what he has said is in the details of the court verdict which came down only at 12:30 pm is false. CPM state secretary called a press conference at 10:30 am. State Vice President of Youth Congress Abin Varki asked if Govindan is an all-knowing saint to tell in the morning about the court verdict that came only in the afternoon. The State Committee of the Youth Congress also informed that if he does not apologize by calling a press conference within seven days, strong legal action will be taken.
